Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress director producer, and vocalist. She is a beautiful and knowledgeable actress she serves as an inspiration to numerous Asian actors who aspire to become famous in Hollywood. Following a string of early appearances in some popular series she gained fame when she joined the crew of the cult comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the sly Ling Woo. After her fame, she got significant roles for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). She gave a stellar performance in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same period, she also starred in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was able to voice prominent characters in animated films like Kung Fu Panda. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield outcomes. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland allowed her to regain her status as an actress of note. Liu chooses her roles with care in order to ensure she is not cast in an industry that is competitive. While she's very proud of her ethnicity however, she is not letting the fact that she is from China limit her creative abilities.
